Follow these steps to learn how to use the Conference feature on your Mitel 5330E IP phone.</p>
<p><strong>Conference</strong><br />
To form a Conference when a two-party call s already in place, or to add another party to an existing Conference:</p>
<ol>
<li>Press <strong>TRANS/CONF.</strong></li>
<li>Dial the number of the next party.</li>
<li>Wait for an answer.</li>
<li>Press <strong>TRANS/CONF.</strong></li>
</ol>
<p>To leave a Conference:</p>
<ul>
<li>Hang up or press <strong>CANCEL</strong>.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Conference Split</strong><br />
To Split a Conference and speak privately with the original party:</p>

<p>The <em>Programmable Feature Keys</em> and <em>Softkeys</em> are situated to the left of the large screen (11).</p>

<li>The top three buttons are <em>Softkeys</em> which allow you to access specific call control features (non-programmable feature keys).</li>

<li> The bottom eight buttons are the <em>Programmable Keys</em>. There are 8 per page for a maximum of 23 programmable keys plus 1 prime line key (bottom left feature key). <li>During a call, the <strong>CANCEL</strong> button ends a call. When programming the phone, it eliminates any input and returns to the previous menu level.</li>

<li>The <strong>REDIAL</strong> button calls the last number dialed.</li>

<li>The <strong>HOLD</strong> button places the current call on hold.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>The <strong>TRANS/CONF</strong> button initiates a call transfer or establishes a three-party conference call.</li>

<p>When it comes to call forwarding, there are different options:</p>

<li>&#8220;<em>Always Forward?</em>&#8221; redirects all incoming calls regardless of the state of your telephone.</li>
<li>&#8220;<em>When No Answer?</em>&#8221; redirects calls after several rings if you do not answer.</li>
<li>&#8220;<em>When Set&#8217;s Busy?</em>&#8221; redirects calls when your telephone is busy.</li>
<li>&#8220;<em>Busy/No Answer?</em>&#8220;redirects calls when your telephone is busy or when you don&#8217;t answer.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Call Forward</strong><br />
To program Call Forward, begin by pressing the <strong>SUPERKEY</strong> button. Next, press the <strong>NO</strong> softkey until &#8220;<em>Call Forwarding?</em>&#8221; appears on the screen. Then, press the <strong>YES</strong> softkey.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">To program external forwarding, press the <strong>CHANGE</strong> softkey.<br />
To program internal forwarding, press the <strong>NO</strong> softkey, then the <strong>CHANGE</strong> softkey.</p>
<p>Now, press the <strong>PROGRAM</strong> softkey and then press the <strong>NO</strong> softkey until the type of Call Forward you would like appears. Press the <strong>YES</strong> softkey, and then dial the destination number. After entering the number, press the <strong>SAVE</strong> softkey.</p>
<p>Once Call Forward is programmed, you may turn the feature on or off by repeating these steps, and then pressing either the <strong>TurnON</strong> softkey or <strong>TurnOFF</strong> softkey accordingly.</p>
<p><strong>Call Forward &#8211; Remote</strong><br />
Call Forward &#8211; Remote forwards calls from a remote station to your current station.</p>
<p>To set Call Forward &#8211; Remote, begin by pressing the <strong>SUPERKEY</strong> button. Next, press the <strong>NO</strong> softkey until &#8220;<em>Call Forwarding?</em>&#8221; appears. Press the <strong>YES</strong> softkey, and then press the NO or NEXT softkey until &#8220;<em>I&#8217;m Here</em>&#8221; appears on the screen. Press the <strong>YES</strong> softkey, and then dial the extension of the remote station. Lastly, press the <strong>SAVE</strong> softkey.</p>
<p>To cancel Call Forward &#8211; Remote from the station that set the remote forwarding, lift the handset and dial <strong>07</strong>. Then dial the extension of the remote station and hang up.</p>
<p>To cancel Call Forward &#8211; Remote from the station that was forwarded, press the <strong>SUPERKEY</strong> button, then press the <strong>NO</strong> softkey until &#8220;<em>Call Forwarding?</em>&#8221; appears, and then press the <strong>YES</strong> softkey.</p>
<ul>
<li>If &#8220;<em>External Calls?</em>&#8221; appears, press the <strong>YES</strong> softkey, then the <strong>DEL</strong> softkey, and then the <strong>NEXT</strong> softkey until &#8220;<em>Internal Calls?</em>&#8221; appears.  Press the <strong>YES</strong> softkey and then the <strong>DEL</strong> softkey.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>If &#8220;<em>External Calls?</em>&#8221; does not appear, simply press the <strong>DEL</strong> softkey.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Call Forward &#8211; Toggle</strong><br />
The Call Forward &#8211; Toggle feature is useful if you want call forwarding in effect for Busy and No Answer conditions most of the time, but occasionally need to override it with Call Forward Always. For example, when you are using a second phone, instead of changing the Call Forward programming on your main phone to turn Call Forward Always on and off, you can program a key to do it.</p>
<p>To toggle Call Forward, press the programmed feature key: <strong>Forward Always, Forward Busy, Forward No Ans</strong>, or <strong>Forward Busy/NA</strong>. You may also program a <strong>Forward All</strong> key to enable and disable all call forward types that have a destination programmed.</p>
<p>To program a personal key, press the <strong>SUPERKEY</strong> button, and then press the <strong>NO</strong> softkey until &#8220;<em>Personal Keys?</em>&#8221; appears. Press the <strong>YES</strong> softkey and then press a personal key that isn&#8217;t a line key. Press the <strong>CHANGE</strong> softkey and then press the <strong>NO</strong> softkey until your desired feature appears. Press the <strong>YES</strong> softkey and then press the <strong>SUPERKEY</strong> button.</p>

That merger proved beneficial for <a title="Mitel Phone Systems" href="https://www.startechtel.com/shop/mitel/" target="_blank">Mitel </a>as they continue to thrive. With this added confidence and a strong drive, Mitel went after another big brand.</p>
<p>Mitel was gunning to acquire <a title="ShoreTel Phone Systems" href="https://www.startechtel.com/shop/shoretel/" target="_blank">ShoreTel</a>, sadly, <a href="http://www.networkworld.com/article/2848129/uc-voip/mitel-drops-shoretel-bid.html">to no avail</a>. After the initial bid was rejected, Mitel revised its offer and came back with an increased bid valuing ShoreTel at about $574 million. The proposal was supposed to be open until November 20, 2014. But because ShoreTel persistently put off any talks of the transaction, Mitel decided to rescind their bid prematurely.</p>
<p>As it stands in the Unified Communications market, Cisco ranks number one, with Avaya, ShoreTel, and Mitel following respectively. Had ShoreTel accepted the offer, Mitel/ShoreTel would have surpassed Avaya, taking the number two spot and bumping Avaya to third.</p>
<p>While this is good news for Avaya, it is also exactly what ShoreTel wanted. They were clearly not interested in the offer. Customers and shareholders can rest easier at night knowing the deal has been terminated, and for now, no mergers will be happening.</p>
