Known for its smart design, ease of use, and dependability over time, the Nortel T7208 phone is an exceptional asset for business offices. Aside from being reliable and affordable, this Nortel Networks phone boasts excellent features, such as call forwarding.

Call forwarding redirects calls to another extension or an external number. The Nortel Networks system supports 3 different types of forwarding: Forward Unconditional, Forward On Busy, and Forward On No Answer.

Forward Unconditional – This forward is used immediately when it is switched on to redirect your calls.

By default this function is only applied to incoming external calls to you. However, if required, internal calls and/or group calls can also be selected.

When enabled, all calls matching the settings are forwarded to the number set as the Forward Unconditional destination. That number can be internal or external.

You can still use the phone to make outgoing calls. When you go off-hook you will hear broken dial tone.

The Forward On Busy and Forward On No Answer options both use the same separate destination number. However, if that number has not been set, they use the same destination as set for Forward Unconditional.

If you have voicemail on, the telephone system will attempt to redirect forwarded calls to voicemail if they are still unanswered after having rung for your no answer time (default 15 seconds). This is not always possible for calls that have been forwarded to an external number.

D = Diverting (Forwarding) Calls – A D is shown on your phone’s idle display when you have Forward Unconditional enabled.

To Turn Forward Unconditional On:

Press Feature 4.

The phone prompts you for the number to which you want calls forwarded. If you already had a number set previously, that number is displayed.

Enter the number to which you want to forward the call. Press * to delete the previous digit.

If the number matches an internal extension, it is saved automatically. For other numbers, press HOLD to save the number when set as required.

Note: You may use the same process to change the forwarding number – you do not need to switch off forwarding in order to change the forwarding number.

To Turn Forward Unconditional Off:

Press Feature #4.

Forward On Busy – This forward is used when you have no call appearances buttons available to on which to receive calls, thus, your phone is not able to present you with any more alerting calls.

By default, this function is only applied to incoming external calls to you. However, if required, internal calls can also be selected.

When enabled, all calls matching the setting are forwarded to the number set as the Forward On Busy/No Answer destination. That number can be internal or external.

Busy is defined as having no available call appearance buttons on which further calls can be presented.

Group calls are not presented when you are busy, and thus, are not forwarded by this setting.

Using A Programmable Button – This function can be assigned to a programmable button. This allows it to be accessed in a single key press. If the button includes an indicator, it will indicate the status of the function (on or off).

Forward No Answer – This forward is used when a call alerts your extension for too long (normal default is 15 seconds) without being answered for some reason.

By default, this function is only applied to incoming external calls to you. However, if required, internal calls can also be selected.

When enabled, all calls matching the setting are forwarded to the number set as the Forward On Busy/No Answer destination. That number can be internal or external.

No answer is defined as having been presented to your phone for your no answer time (default 15 seconds).

Group calls are not forwarded.

Using A Programmable Button – This function can be assigned to a programmable button. This allows it to be accessed in a single key press. If the button includes an indicator, it will indicate the status of the function (on or off).

Default Short Codes
Short codes are numbers that you can dial from any type of phone on the telephone system. The following are default short codes that may be available on your system.

Cancel All Forwarding: *00
Switch off any forwarding – includes Forward Unconditional, Forward On Busy, Forward On No Answer, Follow Me, and Do Not Disturb.

Set The Forward unconditional Destination: *07*N#
Set the destination number (N) for Forward Unconditional when it is switched on.

Set the Forward On Busy/No Answer Destination: *57*N#
Set the destination number (N) for Forward On Busy and Forward On No Answer. If no number has been set, those functions will use the Forward Unconditional number if set.

Switch Forward On Busy On: *03

Switch Forward On No Answer On: *05

Boasting a smart design including six Programmable Line (DN)/Feature Keys (self-labeled) with two features/lines configured on each key, this quality business phone offers convenience and simplicity for your employees.

Call Forward
One of its helpful features is Call Forward. This allows you to direct your calls to ring at another line/ directory number (DN). Please note that you cannot forward calls while your telephone is ringing.

To forward your calls, begin by pressing the Forward Key. The previously stored forward number appears (if applicable) and the screen displays “Enter forward number“. If desired, enter a new number (the existing number will be deleted automatically). If you make a mistake, use the Delete Key to delete the previous digit(s). Press Cancel to leave this screen without forwarding your telephone or changing the number. Press the Done Key to activate Call Forward.

To view the number that your calls are being forwarded to, press the Check Forward (CheckFw) Key. The number will be displayed on the screen. Press the Exit Key to return to the previous screen (Note: This will leave Call Forward active).

To cancel Call Forward, press the Check Forward (CheckFw) Key, the press the Cancel Forward (CanclFw) Key.

Internal Call Forward
This feature allows only calls originating at internal DNs to ring at another DN. Calls originating outside of your Meridian 1 System will still ring at your telephone. Again, please note that you cannot forward calls while your telephone is ringing.

Begin by pressing the Internal Call Forward (IntForward) Key. Next, dial the DN where you want to forward your calls. Lastly, press the Internal Call Forward Key.

To cancel Internal Call Forward, press the Internal Call Forward (IntForward) Key.

To reinstate the Internal Call Forward to the same number, press the Internal Call Forward (IntForward) Key twice.

Please note: The Meridian SL-100 uses the Call Forward Busy/Don’t Answer – Internal/External FAC. This allows Meridian SL-100 user to:

Forward an incoming call which originated internally from a DN in the same customer group as you.

Forward an incoming call which originated externally from a DN out of your customer group to a DN outside your customer group.

Remote Call Forward
This feature allows you (from any telephone other than your own) to forward your calls to any telephone. To use this feature you must have a Call Forward Key configured on your telephone.

Please note: On the Meridian SL-100, dial the Remote Access Directory Number. You are prompted to enter the directory number of your telephone, your PIN, and the Call Forwarding authorization code. Follow the prompts to activate, deactivate, or change call forwarding to a new destination.

To activate Remote Call Forward, start by lifting the handset. If you call from a telephone outside the system, first dial your Direct Inward System Access number and wait for dial tone. Next, dial the to activate the feature. Then, dial your Station Control Password. You should hear a dial tone, and then you may dial your DN. Next, dial the number where you want to forward your calls (if you would like to forward calls to a previous call forward number, skip this step). If you forward calls to an invalid number, you will hear a fast busy tone. Lastly, press the # Key.

To cancel Remote Call Forward, lift the handset. If you call from a telephone outside the system, first dial your Direct Inward System Access number and wait for the dial tone. Next, dial the Remote Call Forward Deactivate FFC. Then, dial your Station Control Password, wait for a dial tone, and then dial your DN. Lastly, press the # Key.

And that is how you use the Call Forward features on the Nortel M3904 phone.

Thanks to our smartphones, devices, laptops, and computers, access to the Internet is never too far away. Despite the convenience of these advanced technologies, some small businesses are slow to adopt new trends. More often than not, upgrades are assumed be too costly or unnecessary.

This thinking can lead to small businesses missing out on a great opportunity. These new technologies could yield great results for businesses both small and large. For example, implementing certain technologies can lead to increased productivity and efficiency among workers.

If your small business is reluctant to upgrade, you may want to take baby steps and consider implementing a VoIP system. VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol. That is, instead of using analog phone lines, Internet connection is utilized to make phone calls.

Upgrading to VoIP phones might be one the best decisions you make for your small business. Most IP phones are both reliable and affordable. Take, for example, the IP series phones from Nortel Networks. These Nortel IP phones come with excellent features, smart design, and a user-friendly interface. On top of that, you can find them new or refurbished for a cost-effective price.

And overall, VoIP service usually costs less than traditional phone services. Depending on your broadband connection and the internal network structure you currently have in place, VoIP can be a minimal expense.

Taking this plunge can improve business sales and success, making the investment worth it. Here are just some of the many ways a VoIP phone system can transform your business for the better.

Remote Workers
Telecommuters are becoming more common by the minute, thanks to improved technologies. Because of the demand, more businesses are offering this option to their workers. In order for telecommuting to work, a system that supports remote or offsite set up is necessary. VoIP systems can deliver this, allowing you to set up at remote locations (such as an employee’s home) and integrate these locations seamlessly with your main office system. Telecommuting is likely not going anywhere, so whether or not you currently offer this, you should invest in a system that has the ability to support this.

Effective Voicemail Management
Honestly, you probably notice a new email easier than a blinking red light on your desk phone. VoIP allows your voice messages to be transcribed and sent to your inbox with an audio attachment. This ensures that you get the message in a timely fashion and can address the issue as soon as possible. And you can easily forward voice messages to other employees accordingly.

Improved Call Filtering
Having a receptionist answer and route calls accordingly can create a bottleneck when call volumes are high. This can result in some calls being sent to voicemail, or missed opportunities due to multiple rings.

With a VoIP system, you can utilize a virtual or auto receptionist, which is basically a routing phone menu with pre-recorded messages. While most callers dislike automated systems, they can be very helpful. Rather than answering the same general questions, you can provide your callers with a recording of basic and useful information. That can reduce your call traffic greatly, while increasing your workers productivity.

These are just some of the many ways that upgrading to VoIP can help your small business. If you use a VoIP system within your business, what are some of the ways it has helped to improve your productivity or boost sales?
It is common knowledge that default usernames and passwords, for whatever device, should be changed as soon as possible to prevent any unauthorized access. Your business phone systems are no exception. You may even want to change or reset your passwords on a regular basis.

We can show you how to reset your voicemail passwords on the Nortel T7316 phone. Before we begin, please note the following default passwords:
Two digit extension phone systems: 120000.
Three digit extension phone systems: 1020000.
Four digit extension phone systems: 10020000.

To reset the administrator password, press FEATURE 985. The voicemail extension will appear on your display screen. Next, press 9 and when prompted for a password, dial 7 3 7 3 8 7 6 7 7 9 3. When the system asks if you want to reset the password, press the YES softkey. The system will then release and restore the default password. You will then be able to change the default password to a new one.

To reset the user mailbox password as an administrator, press FEATURE 983. When the display reads “LOG” enter the administrator password. For example, if the password is 1234, on a two digit extension phone system, you would enter 1 2 1 2 3 4, on a three digit extension phone system, you would enter 1 0 2 1 2 3 4, or on a four digit extension phone system, you would enter 1 0 0 2 1 2 3 4.

After you enter the password, press OK. Next, press the MBOX softkey, and then press the CHNG softkey. Enter the mailbox number for which you want to reset the password. The display should then read “Reset password” and you may press the RESET softkey, followed by the RLS button. The mailbox password is then set to the default, which is usually 0000.

And that is how you reset your voicemail passwords on your Nortel Networks phones. Whether it be through text or speech, we are given the ability to express our thoughts and visions. Nortel T series provides us with a microphone and speaker that allows a voice communication medium to convey directions and useful information with the affinity of voice clarity and a background noise reduction. Nortel’s variety of phones accommodates to your personal or business needs. It is financially affordable and allows you as an individual or company to network, spread ideas, and promote effectively without being alienated from the rest of the world, underestimated, nor overlooked. On the contrary, it allows you to expand and reach out to society to fulfill your mission.

Has it ever happened to you when you are in the middle of an important conversation and the call is dropped or you hear that buzzing sound in the background that distracts you from processing your thoughts? Well, Nortel T Series is the way to the North star. One should be able to amplify the synchronization of the sound of their voice, not deteriorate it. Many case studies have shown that one’s tone of voice is an art of persuasion. It is one of the few contributing factors to your first impression aside from your vocabulary when you are communicating through a phone. At that point you are incapable of alluding society with your glamour and smile. So, don’t you desire to make the best first impression you can make through a simple device. Your voice is one of the most powerful devices you can use to entice your clientele. So why not invest in a product that guarantees you the affinity of your voice to make your point known.

The Nortel T series habituates to your needs. Whether you need a phone to put your vast amount of customers on hold or want a single line phone to have a more intimate relationship with them to provide them with the best service, it is up to you! Nortel T series will give you the option to pick from its wide selection from cordless to stationary phones -all depending upon your environment. Some prefer a cordless phone to avoid the chaotic notion of having to run all over the place to answer a phone or a stationary phone to maintain a well organized work space. Nortel T provides you with an array of products to satisfy its customers and make sure that you as a company or individual do not feel or make your clientele feel isolated.

Nortel’s T series is devoted to its product’s quality and affordability. It is devoted to providing you with an essential component of professional success – interpersonal, inter-group, intra-group, organizational, and external levels.

Customers are now able to browse by category or manufacturer. We have also shrunk our manufacturer’s links to include our most popular manufacturers. This should make it easier for searching phones, phone system parts, or complete phone systems. If for any reason you can’t find the products you are looking for, don’t hesitate to call us. Our friendly staff is available to assist you from 7am to 5pm Pacific time. Also, keep an eye out on our super buy section!
